"Atyla" is a unique vessel for many reasons

The story of a dream:
Esteban Vicente Jiménez (Soria, Spain, 1953) was a professional kayaker with an ambitious dream: to build a large wooden ship robust enough to sail around the world.
Despite the lack of funds and living 250 km from the nearest coastline, Esteban began designing Atyla in 1979 following the traditional standards of shipwrights.
Months and hundreds of sketches later, his original design received the approval of naval architect Dr. Francisco Lasa Etxarri. Atyla was finally launched on May 15, 1984.
Since then, "Atyla" has been sailing and currently the ship undertakes an average of 22 voyages annually, covering around 8,500 nautical miles in 8 different countries, offering adventure trips and hosting hundreds of participants from around the world.
"Atyla" has been in the same family since 1984, who have lovingly maintained and continue to care for it.
